Have you ever tried to share your faith but you are not sure what to say? Have you ever written your personal mission statement or used an “Elevator Pitch”? An elevator pitch is a brief, persuasive speech that you use (spoken or written) to spark interest in what you do (or your business/organization). A good elevator pitch should last no longer than a short elevator ride—about 20 to 30 seconds. (hence the name)
The word evangelism can be intimidating to some of us, especially if it’s not one of our strengths, but we still want to share the Gospel. Instead of opening your mouth and nothing comes out, or rambling on and on, try an “Elevator Speech”. We can have a far greater impact if we know what to say when approached with an opportunity to share.
Today we want to challenge you to make our own “Elevator Pitch” to share with those that cross our paths. Here’s an example you can use to start with (or use this one as your own).
“I am a daughter of the King base my life on the truth that God created me, Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and the Holy Spirit is restoring me and the world we live in.”
Now it’s your turn! Identify your goal, and then explain it in the time it takes to ride an elevator. Sound easy and fun?
We would love to know your “pitch”! Comment below to share with others or email us!
